alas, the holidays are coming to an end all too soon! as the famous saying goes, all good things must come to an end. but if i had my way, i would extend the holidays just a little longer. and then a little longer. and then a liiittle bit longer. but since that is humanly impossible, i shall be content with the holiday i had. well, i think i had my fair share of work and play.
my
sunday was spent lounging around- something i hadn't been able to do for months.
monday came, but without the typical monday-blues-feeling. i went to east coast park with lynette, chunny, jamie, cherlynn, charmaine, and ame! we met at city hall and hopped on to a bus from there. fortunately, the bus driver was kind enough to point us in the direction of east coast park. i don't think we would have got there for hours otherwise [even though we were equipped with two small maps torn out from goodness knows where. ask chunny.].
from the bus stop, we walked a very long distance before reaching the outskirts of east coast park, weaving through the chalet, and following the footpath to the bicycle rental place. there we got ourselves a deal [according to the lady in charge], of $5 per bike for 3 hours.
i think we cycled for a total of nearly 2 hours, with lazing on a groyne and having our picnic lunch in between. who would have thought that that would cost us sunburns?! i earned myself a sleeve line, which still exists presently :(. but i guess that was nothing compared to ame and cherlynn, our official two lobsters.
after that we took a shuttlebus to ps, and dropped by spotlight for a while.
then i went to library@orchard, and borrowed cider with rosie by laurie lee. that's one of the many books elevated to a 'must-read, may have an excerpt from it for o levels' status by our english teacher.
tuesday was when i really started to hit the books again. at night i went for the penang hawker fair [another buffet] with my family. it was when we were preparing to go out that i realised, to my horror of horrors, that my p6 brother has finally surpassed me vertically. now
i'm the shortest in my family, imagine that.
wednesday was another stay-at-home-to-study day. but i did hit the gym for a while in the morning, and caught the sneaks of the longest yard at night with my family.
on
thursday, i went back to school to paint the longest day banner. it's still not done yet. then i went out again for cell group.
on
friday i studied again.
today, i studied as much as i could then i went for church.
honestly, the main reason why i've started studying is to make up for next week. whether i like it or not, i'll have to stay back a lot. sometimes, i really wish there was a way out of all this extra work, but there isn't. then again, this is the last event i'll ever get to plan while in mg. so i guess putting in so much effort is worth it.
